SNAPnSAVE will save you money no matter where you shop

snapnsave

Babies are expensive. Actually, no, the baby themselves aren’t expensive – there are easy ways to keep your baby clean, fed and safe without spending a fortune. The expenses come for all the things you want to do with your child, you know, like educate them or take them to swimming classes (something I’ve started and will be blogging about soon!). Times are tight, and whether you have kids or not, we can all benefit from saving money. Recently, I wrote about SNAPnSAVE on Tums2Tots, and I just have to share why it’s so cool.

You can read about how the app actually works in my article, but the main thing I’m impressed by is that you can shop pretty much anywhere. Do you typically buy a pie at the petrol station? Or your milk at Spar vs PicknPay? No problem, SNAPnSAVE is still rad for you. It’s more about the products you buy rather than where you buy them. Continue Reading

Why I love my Wonder Weeks App

app for that

If there’s one thing I’ve learned from being a parent, it’s that you can’t truly be prepared for anything. Your baby might wake up one morning and cry non-stop for no reason. You may or may not have noticed the pretty gray button on the right side of the page. That’s to show you that I’m a columnist over on Tums 2 Tots. My column each month is about an app that makes pregnancy or parenting easier, and you can check it out over here (and you really should – the site has gone through a rebranding and looks beautiful!). This month, I wrote about The Wonder Weeks app, and it truly is my lifesaver sometimes. Continue Reading

Any woman can benefit from installing Clue on her phone

Clue

Even before I went off the pill, I installed an app on my phone. Clue is a period tracking app, but it’s not just for women who want to be aware of their fertility or ovulation cycle. I installed it out of curiosity, but it did end up helping me when Dean and I were ready to start trying for a kid.

What I like about the app is just how scientific it is, and that it gets ever more accurate the more you use it. As someone who suffers from hormone-induced migraines, as well as the odd mood swing, it was great to be able to predict when these might come. While on the pill, I was generally quite aware of when I’d be getting my period, but once I went off, it was more a mystery – one that clue could give insight into. Continue Reading
